Yup!

There have been two major issues in the past in terms of integrating ATSC/DVB
reception into handsets:
1. The need for an additional modem chip, or the development of a new chip that
supports multiple standards (broadcast and cellular).
2. Power consumption.

By moving to a common LTE modem, the only significant issue is frequency band
support, a much easier problem to address. Broadcasters would also benefit by
piggybacking on both the LTE transmission equipment market and the tower
infrastructure where the use of multiple sites in a market makes sense.

I felt the last paragraph was the most interesting.

"Adapting LTE Broadcast to traditional high broadcasting towers creates the
possibility of cooperation between the cellular and broadcasting networks,
thus reducing network load, energy consumption and network costs. Using such
high towers with an LTE-inspired technology opens the possibility to reach
all mobile devices without the need to add a specific broadcast receiver in
the devices, a hurdle that proved very difficult to overcome in the past."

If you can do this from big sticks, you can do it at many tower heights and
power levels. This kind of flexibility allows the infrastructure in any
geographic market to be optimized for the local conditions. It is not a
question of one stick or hundreds of dense cells.
