Interestingly, the terrestrial receiver requirements are not all that stringent, at least comparing the performance minima set for 3.3 b/s/Hz (equivalent to 8-VSB). This includes sensitivity, dynamic range, adjacent channel rejection, co-channel rejection, and C/N margins required in gaussian noise or with a single 0 dB echo. In all the above, A/74 is similar or more stringent, where it gives goals, or the newer ATSC receivers themselves measure within these specs, even when A/74 does not explicitly state a goal. The only requirements that seem very stringent are those which relate to echo tolerance of long time lag echoes, as one would expect, especially because these are tabulated with respect to guard intervals of 1/8 or greater, in 8K mode.
