Channels 2-51 are the official final resting place for ATSC post-analog shut down. I know of several stations that either are or plan to operate on VHF post analog shut down, but not too many in the low VHF 2-6. Impulse noise is cited as the reason. Had I been the FCC Czar, I would have forced everyone to ultimately land on a UHF channel post transition, thereby putting every broadcaster big and small on more or less level ground.
