YOU look at a schedule for a channel and program your PVR to record it.

Have you conveniently forgotten about TiVo?

No. Tivo simply searches the program schedule and provides suggestions related to the choices you have already made. Yes this is more sophisticated than just a program guide, but it does not magically make content available that IS NOT available on the channels you can access; it just adds a degree of search and intelligence to the program guide. You STILL can only view what is available on the channels you can access.

And this is different from viewing content on a server in the network?

Absolutely!

Want to watch an episode of a new show that aired last week on ABC, NBC, CBS or Fox - a show that a friend told you about that you DID NOT record...

Good luck! It may be on next summer.

Or perhaps you want to see something that aired last season that is not yet in syndication...

Good luck. It may have been cancelled and NEVER air again on your OTA channels.

Craig
