Craig, you are clueless. And oblivious. Here, educate yourself. Pay attention
to the dates:

Cable broadband easily predates ADSL. And don't get befuddled. When they
mention early DSL and ISDN, that's what they are talking about! In the
mid-1990s, it was THE DSL. Not ADSL. DSL fed ISDN lines (64 kb/s * 2 + 16 kb/s
for signaling). ADSL is what most people call DSL these days.
Or this, dated 2000, which pretty much dismisses DSL:

Huh? You are making no sense.
Really, Craig? You post an article that explains how the telcos dragged their
heels in allowing competitive ISPs on ADSL lines, which I had just explained to
you, and I'm making no sense? Why do you insist on posting articles that
confirm what I say, and contradict what your say? The FACT is, because telcos
had to share their ADSL lines, initially, they took forever to deploy ADSL. And
that's aside from the fact that it was inherently more difficult to squeeze
broadband through voice grade twisted pair, than through coax cable.
If cable was already deployed in your area, then there was NEVER a time
that Verizon was your only option.
When did I say Verizon was my only option? Find it and quote it, Craig.
Initially, cable broadband was my only option, except of course, I never
subscribed to cable. Eventually, we got Verizon DSL. As soon as we could. But
long after cable broadband had become available.
