No make believe here. If the customer is home they are most likely using Xfinity broadband via their in-home Wi-Fi. If they are at a restaurant or hotel with a Comcast Wi-Fi hot spot they are using Xfinity broadband. If they are using cellular data they are using the Verizon 4G network.

As a Verizon and Xfinity X1 customer, this is exactly how my service works now. As a Comcast broadband subscriber my phone will automatically connect to ANY Comcast hotspot. And this includes other residential service subscriber's homes. My home Xfinity Wi-Fi will allow any other Comcast broadband subscriber to automatically use my Wi-Fi without needing to share Wi-Fi login passwords.

The only advantage I see with this Comcast offering is to bundle a fourth service (mobile) to the cable, internet, and home phone Triple Play they already offer, at perhaps a slightly lower cost than separate Comcast and Verizon accounts.
