Comcast Launches HDTV On Demand
The cable operator offers two high-def documentaries for $5.99 each.

Washington, D.C. (July 7) -- Comcast, the nation's largest cable
operator, this week unveiled a High-Definition TV on-demand service.

Comcast subscribers, who have a HDTV and high-def cable tuner,
initially can order just two HD films on demand -- Antarctica HD and
India: Kingdom of the Tiger. However, Comcast and other cable
operators are expected to expand their HD on-demand lineups in the
coming months. Cablevision launched a similar on-demand service a few
months ago in the New York and Connecticut areas.
