I'm saying, in a negative way. It is in the MVPDs' interest to keep those TV 
sets as dumb as possible, and CE vendors seem to be obliging. That's the only 
way I can explain why TV sets haven't evolved, aside from the monitor itself.

That's *exactly* what one would expect, from the CE companies. And it's the 
OPPOSITE of the way they're behaving now. Innovation that helps them and the 
consumer is the way it should be!

To sell new sets that the public would find compelling. And they are 
compelling. Just like color, UHF, HiFi and stereo sound, and all the other 
innovations they introduced over the years.

Instead now, they seem much happier dumbing down their designs, so that Comcast 
can brag about some gussied up old-school proprietary STB. Go figure.
