Old arguments, Craig. The fact is, broadcasters use HD for high quality, not 
ED. If broadcasters use SD, it is either for the non-HD subchannels, leaving as 
much room as possible for the HD stream, OR it's to pack as many SD channels as 
possible in their 6 MHz channel.

So I'm saying, in reality, the SD subchannels WILL be bit starved. Hence, the 
704 X 480 streams will hardly be used to extract the very best quality 
possible.

Then you are claiming that Universal Sports could fit a 480p60 stream in a 2.5 
Mb/s (avg) subchannel. Did anyone try this? What does it look like, compared to 
480i?
