As I said, no big deal. The congloms are extending THEMSELVES on the Internet,
either on their own or with the help of aggregation sites such as Hulu or Yahoo
View, without "compulsory" anything. It suits them, so they do it. That's what
the neutral Internet allows.
The Obama FCC was considering extending the compulsory license to VMVPDs;
And at the time, I said that was a non-starter. There's no reason to duplicate
legacy MVPDs on the Internet. People who bail of legacy MVPDs want something
better, as they define better, rather than a duplicate of what they just bailed
out from.
