I agree with your opinion of what a "true HD production" should look 
like. But there is a hidden implication: "true HD" can no longer be 
down-converted to SD resolution, or it will lose essential information. 
Tell that to the ATSC, who think that everybody should be able to 
receive HD transmissions on settop boxes that convert them to NTSC.
