Just an idea of what the difference a few years makes. In Auction 44 the New York license for channel 54 and 59 were won for $4,494,750.00 by Cavalier Group LL. Today in Auction 73 the B block has a high bid of $884,703,000.00. Since they are almost identical, B block consist of channels 53 and 58, they are worth near the same today.

That is an increase in price of 196.83 times or 19683%. Well within the range I predicted back then of between a 100 and 1000 times increase by the 2006 Auction that was canceled. This license will only have to increase by a factor of five to get to 1000 times its 2002 cost and that is doable if the buyer uses it right which I doubt. Cavalier offered us New York for $6.5 million soon after Auction 44 but we couldn't raise the funds. They said it would be a neat "hat trick" to get all their investors money back with the instant sale of just one license. They had also bought Boston and Philadelphia along with some of Mississippi. Later they folded into Aloha.

Actually 54 and 59 may be worth more than 53 and 58 since they can be used at 50 kW instead of 5 kW and have a longer time for build-out.
