That's because AirPlay mirroring solves the question I'm most often asked: how do I stream any Web video from a laptop directly to your TV, wirelessly? With an Apple TV and a Mac running Mountain Lion that supports AirPlay mirroring (check Apple's Web site to see if your Mac is compatible), anything you can see on your computer's screen -- including Flash video and free Hulu content -- you can stream to your TV.

Better yet, only one device is needed to do this: a regular PC. Connected to the TV either via RGB or HDMI, or you may even cobble up an RGB to component interface, if you must.

You will note two subtle nuances in the "question and answer:" 1) the "question" was sharing wirelessly which negates Bert's answer, and 2) the answer included "free" Hulu content.

If you wish to watch copyright protected content, then you should use Bert's suggested HDMI from a PC to your TV. Thanks to a Blu-Ray Analog Sunset provision in the licensing agreement, after 2013 Analog RGB will be turned off on all new PCs and Laptops whenever protected content such as Blu-Ray discs are played. DRM protected downloaded content such as movies from Netflix, etc., may also be affected. Only HDCP enabled connections will be allowed to a display device. This includes your desktop PC's monitor.

John
