A perfectly good question, and one which broadcasters should be answering in
order to remain relevant in the Internet era.

Whoever is in that signal path, from content owner to TV set, ought to "add
value," to remain relevant. My suggestion continues to be that local
broadcasters could carve out some role running the video servers for their
stuff, in the local market ISP networks. As well as retaining their news,
weather, and local affairs programming, and their affiliation with these new
FOTA networks like ThisTV, GetTV, and Movies! Channels. Reinvent themselves as
CDNs, more or less.
