Thomson site lists the DTF8600, with spec sheet listed as the DTT8600:

The big RECTANGULAR chip (with hundreds of leads!!!) furthest away from the
input is the ATSC Decoder Chip.
Since the 4th and 5th Gen LG, ATI (Theater), STMicroelectronics and Broadcom
chips are all SQUARE, it appears to be something new, unique and different....
