C. B. Patel told me a few years ago that he was surprised to find that a guy
in Doylestown, PA was receiving HDTV from New York City stations in his
basement using an indoor antenna and aluminum foil reflector on basement
wall.
It is hard to judge anything based on anecdotal evidence.
