Sling TV, Dish Network’s OTT pay-TV service for cord-cutters launched nationwide on February 9, said it has added A&E, History, H2 and Lifetime to its $20 per month “Best of Live TV” package, and has added FYI and LMN to its $5 per month Lifestyle Extra add-on pack. Sling TV is offering a three-day replay feature for A+E originals such as The Returned, Bates Motel, Vikings, Pawn Stars, Dance Moms and Project Runway, and is offering VOD content from all of the carried A+E networks. In addition to the new A+E Networks channels, others carried on Sling TV’s core package include ESPN, ESPN2, AMC, TNT, TBS, Food Network, HGTV, Travel Channel, IFC, El Rey, Adult Swim, Cartoon Network, ABC Family, Disney Channel, CNN and Galavision. It also provides access to the WatchESPN app and content from Maker Studios. The Lifestyle Extra package presently offers truTV, Cooking Channel, DIY and WE tv, FYI and LMN. Sling TV, currently a single-stream service, also markets four other add-on packs: World News Extra, Sports Extra, Hollywood Extra, and Kids Extra. Sling TV recently extended support to the Xbox One gaming console, though there have been some technical hiccups on that platform early on that have since been resolved, complementing its reach on Roku devices and Roku TVs, Web browsers, Android and iOS smartphones and tablets, and the Amazon Fire TV box and Amazon Fire TV Stick. Sling TV will also support Nexus Player, a device powered by the Android TV OS.
