that, but if it is significant and ignored, we may not live at all.

How about the human activity reduction in COs sources? We now used controlled burns in forests and fight major wars against wildfires each year. Does anyone know how much of a reduction in CO2 emissions this amounts to?

If the politicians were truly concerned about CO2 emissions, why are major polution countires exempted? China and India plan to bring online 775 coal powered plants by 2012 ( 72 more in the U.S.)

China is the dominant player. The country is on track to add 562 coal-fired plants - nearly half the world total of plants expected to come online in the next eight years. India could add 213 such plants; the US, 72.

doubly negative impact on the earth?s ecology by reducing its ability to
convert CO2 into oxygen.

Can you provide some evidence that deforestation actually exists?

Here is an excerpt from a web page citing a U.N report:

Will deforestation leave us with no trees? Data from the UN's Food and Agriculture Organization show a relatively consistent trend line from 1948 to the mid-nineties, with about 30 percent of the planet's land surface covered by forest.

I believe that in the U.S. we have actually had an increase in percentage of land area covered with forests. And when some forests are cleared for plantations of trees, the human management of this resource actually increases the consumption of atmospheric CO2 producing more oxygen.

Rather than worrying about the cyclic nature of climate change, perhaps we should be using the scientific method to become even BETTER stewards of the Earth's resources.

Oh wait...we have been doing that for the past half century, with dramatic improvements in the environment in the U.S. Take a look at the top polluters in the world. For the most part they are current/former communist nations and current socialist nations.

Somehow, it seems bass ackwards to punish those who are responsible while encouraging irresponsibility by those who are "less fortunate."
