The USB receivers tested on several occasions by several trade journal scribes have proven to be quite effective for portable reception. Therefore, an integrated ATSC portable set should be an easily doable do. If these don't show up on store shelves, it must be because American consumers don't like portable TVs. Does that make sense to you? Bert
In the earlier years of 8-VSB a number of CE companies told us that they were not interested in 8-VSB because of its problems and they expected it to be replaced after some decent interval. I think they are still of that opinion. I am. The evidence is evident in any retail store that sells DTV stuff. It was/is amazing to me when any CE company comes out with any 8-VSB products other than integrated DTV sets which are mandated. In the case of this Taiwanese company I think they probably didn't do their homework. Just an honest mistake in putting out this mobile product. Same thing happened with Hisense but I believe they have cam to their senses since. I think this is a prototype to test the waters, will never reach store shelves. Hence the reason for no price and no response.
