Oh, let's finish that thought.

The C/N margin required with either dynamic echo or with
very loud echoes (such as Brazil E) is not 15.2, but more
like 25 dB, with the 5th gen LG (and the Linx). So even
if the receiver with cheap front end was working under
most conditions, the passing car can demand somewhat more
C/N margin for equalization to work. In these conditions,
the loud IM distortion having eaten away at your margin,
the receiver will fail.
