Yes, Craig. That's their job. On the other hand, I continue to wonder on whose
payroll you are? Your true colors have been revealed a long time ago.
So caps are an abuse of their monopoly power?
When people are charged in the thousands of dollars extra per month, Craig? And
when the company announces to people that the extra charges are justified, and
the customer has nothing to say about it? Try reading the article first, before
commenting. These are abuses of monopoly power, which the government is there
to deal with.
The "cable monopoly" Bert loves to hate does not have unlimited
broadband to every home.
Please quote, and I mean verbatim, anything I wrote that implies a requirement
for infinite bandwidth.
The nodes do not have the capacity to deliver HD to every home
Once again, Craig, you have no idea what you are talking about. The capacity
problem is solved day in and day out, but you still have not understood the
meaning of those words.
Let me put it to you this way. In your imagination, only 4% of video was being
streamed, daily, only a few months ago. And yet we know that today, half of all
daily video consumption is being streamed. So tell us, Craig: When did the
Internet implode? Can you give us a date? Did you even notice any such
implosion making the news? The only problems we have ever read about have
related to only ONE service, such as Sling. Their unique servers only. So
explain to us, Craig. How is this possible? How did the Internet manage to go
from 4% to 50% daily streaming, practically overnight, with no hiccup?
And that is EXACTLY the way broadband is sold today; tiers based
on peak performance, not guaranteed performance.
Whoa, Craig, are you just spouting out text for want of anything else to do? I
was explaining how people can solve the caps problem for themselves, instead of
playing the "victim card" as you like to do. People can manage this problem, in
a way the will directly convince the ISPs to change their tactics.
The basic problem with the article is that it was only whining. It said, in so
many words, data caps have to be eliminated because they cost us money and we
don't like them. Instead of explaining (a) why the broadband providers' excuses
were not very convincing, and (b) what consumers can do, other than just whine
about it.
But you missed all of that, Craig.
Bert
