Hello

I've fixed hosting for us now, it should be functional within days. It's not enough for scaling benchmarks so we're still looking for that kind of hosting. But there we probably could use Amazon EC2 together with Vaadin. But other cloud alternatives and distributed torrent-like apps/live-CD's need to be considered.

The application to Apps4Finland has gone through, now it's possible to vote on our project.

The text is only in finnish, but the voting can also be done in facebook ;)

Now I think it would be time to start thinking about how the development of the open-source software should/could be financed. What business use-cases and possibilities exist? How do we make a donation platform? Service contracts to customize the software for different domains? Could Ammi and Fredrik work on this?

We should really start using http://webchat.freenode.net/ and the #opendemocracy channel there. You can use any IRC client but, if the only thing you have is a browser, you can use that site. We have some clients constantly connected so everything gets archived. This way we can discuss and cooperate on the design and implementation in real-time and when schedules allow.

Shushil any thoughts on the database?
Anup any thoughts on the software architecture?

Josef and I did some initial work on UI requirements and made some suggestions. We'll make it digital and share it soon.

The Åland office and the Ålands landskapsregering have expressed interest in the system. And we're probably meeting with representatives from the pirate party on Monday, but let's see how the voting goes. So go vote on the doodle:

That's it for now.
