Generally, a net_interface is a net_device bound to a specific domain with a specific address.
This sounds better.
Can a net_device have multiple net_interfaces for the same domain/family? For instance, my ethernet card could have 192.168.0.1 and 62.123.12.11 at the same time. That's important for IPv6 and I didn't find this in the source.
