Well I can now confirm that I only get silence from the new media kit.

TV runs but I cannot change channels.
Soundplay runs but plays silence.
Cortex shows the various media kit pieces ok.

Lots of debug output mostly complaining about bad port id's
ie
SendToPort: write_port failed, port -333, error 0x80001200 (Bad port
ID)

other sorts of output is

QueryPort: write_port failed, port -222, error 0x80001200 (Bad port ID)

Currently I have lots of media type devices, some of which might cause
it problems
YMF744B-V based soundcard
Bt878 based TV/video capture card
IEEE1394 OHCI 1.1 3-port PHY-Link Ctrlr DV/Firewire card

Cheers
