I hope everyone is enjoying their summer! September is coming quickly! eeek!
In June we talked about having a welcome back BBQ and combining it with a drive
one for your school fundraiser. If we still want to go ahead with this, we
should start to slowly think about getting organized.
I'm thinking if we start brainstorming/communicating through email now, then
when we meet in September we will be ready to go....ish.
Some ideas we threw around in June were:
-drive one for your school
-BBQ....simple...hotdogs? drinks
-start early....around 4:30 or 5....families can come for dinner
-various activity stations....maybe a bouncy house?
-invite teachers/staff so we can combine it with an open house as well....not
sure how this would work yet....will need some planning and interest from staff
-aim for the 3rd week of September...I think we should avoid the 18th. The
19th is a PD day and families might leave town on the 18th.
That's all I remember, anyone else have any ideas?
Lynda - Could you please contact Ford and get some info for us?
I was also thinking maybe we could set something up in the front foyer for
opening day conferences about PAC....try to get more parents involved. Perhaps
we could also have a sign up for parents that are interested in volunteering
but not necessarily with meetings and organizing. We could make a list of
people to call when we need help. thoughts?
