*Veterans' Day Bonfire:*
Come join us to honor our veterans at Old Union’s Veteran’s Day bonfire on
Saturday, November 9th from 6 to 8 PM (weather permitting). Roast hot dogs
and marshmallows by the fire, participate in a campfire singalong, which
will include some of our veterans’ favorite hymns, and enjoy fellowship!
Bring a veteran! Bring your own stick to roast your hot dogs!
We would like to expand our congregation’s veteran slideshow. Please email
a photograph of yourself or a loved one to Lorene Winner (
hifrommars@xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx), or you can call her at 724-538-4694 and
arrange to meet to give her the picture(s), which will be returned to you.
She would like to have all pictures by Friday.
Sylvia Grieb died on Tuesday afternoon. Please pray for Ken and the other
members of her family. Her memorial service will be held at the church on
Saturday, November 16 at 11:00, with a luncheon to follow. If you would
like to help with the luncheon, please contact Pat Wills (
pwills@xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx).
Please pray for Beth Singo, a friend of Sally Pavlina who was diagnosed
with lung cancer. The doctors have given her a 1 year life expectancy, but
she has a positive attitude and is planning on many more years than that.
Beth is 6o years old.
Please pray for Rebecca Kosinski, who is Ed and Jane Kosinski's
granddaughter. She has been diagnosed with breast cancer. She is the mother
of three children.
We will hold our annual congregational meeting after worship on Sunday,
to elect officers, vote on the pastor’s terms of call, and receive
financial reports, including the budget. Reports are available to pick up
in the church lobby.
Because of the congregational meeting, our monthly fellowship dinner will
be November 17.
The Lighthouse’s Christmas Toy Shoppe

to “shop” for gifts for their children, ages 0-16. Please bring you
donation of a new, unwrapped toy, clothing, or gift card to church by
December 9.
We are receiving donations for the Butler High School
<https://www.basdk12.org/1/home>to provide Christmas hygiene packets for
their students in need. Please drop them off in the Lighthouse bin in the
lobby.
Old Union will host a Christmas concert by the Key of Hope
<https://www.keyofhope.org/choir-tour> choir on December 17. The choir is
composed of youth from South Africa affected by poverty and family
disruption. We are seeking five families to be host homes for the night.
Each home will host 4-6 youth, plus an adult chaperone. Sleeping
accomodations can be beds, couches, cots, and air mattresses. Please speak
with Peter if you'd like more information.
On December 14 at 10:00, Old Union will help the Evans City Food Cupboard
prepare for its holiday food distribution. We are seeking 6-12 people to
join us for this community service.
