Hello, everyone!
I would like to plan a cookout/ bonfire to commemorate our veterans on
Veteran’s Day, Nov. 11th. This is a Saturday. It would be from 4-8 PM.
Preliminary thoughts I have are: providing a hayride, having a patriotic
pumpkin decorating contest, of course, a bonfire, and ending the evening
with the release of sky lanterns. I would like to do this as a way to
invite the community to Old Union. Food would be provided—simple fare of
hot dogs, possibly another meat like barbecue chipped ham; chips;
s’mores—for a price. I may have a donation basket, as well. Any money that
is collected would go towards the Building Fund.
Is there anyone who would be willing to provide the tractor and/or riding
cart for the hayride? If anyone has any more ideas as to what we can do or
would like to help me with this, it would be greatly appreciated! You can
