I recently did several steam bending projects using white oak. I was
able to get my wood at Newport Nautical Timbers in Bristol RI. They have
both a warehouse and a sawmill so they should be able to accommodate you.
None of their wood is kiln dried and I was able to get some beautiful 1/4
sawn from them and had no problem with the bending.
I learned quite a bit about steam bending so if you have any questions,
drop me a note.

I am making a couple of chairs and am in need of some green or fairly
Freshly cut red or white oak. I need to steam bend it and am not having
Luck with steam bending kiln dried beech, cherry or maple.
If anyone can help me out I would greatly appreciate it.
What I want is a log about 12” diameter and 24 “ long it must be straight
And knot free.
