Hello, all.
The next meeting of the Oregon community college presidents will take place on
May 13, and they will be continuing their discussion on the PDP. The presidents
of UCC and SWOCC have requested feedback from Oregon’s IE/IR group to prepare
for their May 13 meeting.
I spoke with Laurie about how we might accomplish this (since our next meeting
is also on May 13), and she suggested that we schedule a 1-hour Zoom call prior
to our meeting. Additionally, we’ve invited Jess Stahl, from NWCCU, to attend
so that she can talk to us about the various resources currently available to
help colleges adopt PDP, and some of the other assistance NWCCU may be able to
provide.
Here are the questions Drs. Thatcher and Scott are asking of us:
1. Is there enough long-term benefit in adopting PDP to justify the initial
implementation effort?
2. If it would be beneficial to have PDP, how can the college presidents
assist?
3. What sort of resources might IE/IR staff need for the initial
implementation?
4. There are financial resources available from NWCCU right now that will
end in September 2023. How helpful might these be for your office?
5. Would your answers to the above questions change if we were talking about
this 1 year from now? 2 years?
In addition to the meeting, I’ll be happy to collect any email feedback you’d
like to send for the presidents.
Here is the meeting information. Looking forward to seeing you!
Steve
