Do you happen to have Lane's CP intake form? I have so much learning to do as
to how COCC and all of you handle/process those getting Career Pathways grant
related intentional support. My mind still believes all students in a Career
Pathways program count yet very few get the intentional support piece. At least
that is the case here at COCC. My assumption is that students receiving
intentional support would complete the intake form... correct?

Hi all,
I thought I would share my tentative FRO Pathways reporting strategy for
collecting employment outcomes data. I'm looping the state into this because
frankly I believe this would be better coordinated through the state rather
through the 17 community colleges, my rationale being more than simply a
staffing issue. Let me explain.
1. Adopting a CP intake form similar to Lane's. This intake form collects
all the needed information except the employment outcomes data. In addition to
this, it collects the student's personal email and cell phone number. I know
most of us already have these in our data systems, but this gives us a chance
to collect/verify/update with the most current information.
Currently at RCC, we are investigating Dynamics 365 Customer Voice (formally
known as Forms Pro). Forms is already part of our 365 environment, but this
would give us additional features-one of them to be able to automatically
import data in to MS Excel format and potentially directly into our Azure
environment. For one license at the educational discount it's $480, with 2000
responses. I'm looking into how much more of an additional charge for added
1000 response packs at the educational rate. I can update you when I know if
you want.
1. Job Placement/Outcomes data. Using MS Customer Voice to collect the
follow up information directly from the student. We use a SMS Blast to all the
cell phone numbers and personal emails at appropriate times with appropriate
incentives to collect the information. The cell phone number or the personal
email can be used to match the data back to the CP Student.
Now here is where I think it is in HECC's best interest to coordinate step 2.
Rather than us doing the SMS text and personal email blast, we report these two
fields to the state in our 'data collection'. They do the SMS blast back to a
Customer Voice form, just as I describe in #2.
The benefit, besides having a standard survey methodology across the state for
consistency and being able to look at response bias/non response rates
(reporting those directly to the legislature), is that they now have the
student's personal email AND cell to follow up across multiple years at their
leisure. The legislature wants more information, they can reach out and get
it. Private businesses use this methodology ALL the time. It's faster than
waiting for the data to come in, and more flexible/nimble/agile.
Rogue is going to continue to investigate additional technologies to reduce our
workload on this. I'll continue to update you to what I find.
