Hi All-

Jim and I were over in the Sisters area this weekend for a conference, and
had a couple of bird sightings that might or might not be significant, since
we don't know the usual timing over there. A CALLIOPE HUMMINGBIRD was at
Calliope Crossing, just a bit east of the road, on bare willows (found by
another Corvallis birder for us!). An OLIVE-SIDED FLYCATCHER was flycatching
off dead trees along the south bank of the stream, and a WILLIAMSON'S
SAPSUCKER was working the same area of trees. Two PINYON JAYS were in
Sisters near the Ray's Food Place, and a BLACK -BACKED WOODPECKER was
working trees in a recent burn.
