Thursday evening, a glimpse of a strange glowing disc in the sky and a dozen
AMERICAN WHITE PELICANS on the main lake, plus hundreds of swallows, mostly
CLIFF but also BARN and a few VIOLET-GREEN. Main thing to report is that there
is more mudflat habitat than I’ve ever seen at this refuge, which bodes well
for shorebirding here just ahead.
EVENING GROSBEAKS in McMinnville Thursday midday.
And now this Friday morning in the neighborhood (Durham, SW metro Portland) -
NASHVILLE WARBLER in my yard (first), CASSIN’S VIREO, lots of YELLOW-RUMPS.
