tl;dr -- please participate! :-D

Hey all,

I'll be coordinating/collecting data on these 3 counties for the spring
NAMC (North American Migration Count) this year. You no doubt saw the
recent email from Joel Geier explaining how the count works, pretty easy
and fun!

Last fall I collected the data for Multnomah and Columbia, and there were 4
participants in each county--which is pretty good for Columbia, but not so
much for Multnomah where we have so many birders and hotspots. Same with
Washington county, where I think there was no data submitted last fall.

I would list off all the great birding spots among these counties to entice
those of you in the area out, but really that's a crazy long list. Even if
you don't end up going anywhere to bird, but just count from your home,
that is such valuable data, as well! Please do think about sending it along.

As far as which day to participate on, I intend to do a "flex" system to
hopefully accommodate as many of your schedules as possible. So whether you
bird on *Saturday May 9* or *Sunday May 10*, it's all good. I just need to
make sure there's no overlap. To that end, if you are able to step up and
commit to bird a particular area for an hour or two or four (say, Fernhill
Wetland, or Sauvie Island, or Mt Tabor), let me know asap.

Any questions, hit me up!

Here's a cute bird comic in thanks for hearing my pleas:
