I’d like to move away from moderating OBOL. However, there is no settled
process in place for allowing this to happen. The history here is that, when
the person running the list-serv wanted to leave, the list-serv would dissolve
and a whole new one had to be created. I think I was the 5th or 6th person to
take on this task.
If there is a desire to continue having a state-wide email list, it would be
ideal if someone would start up a new list-serv altogether, so that I can be
separated.
Freelists has worked well for our purposes over the last 11 or 12 years. It is
truly free and there is no limit on the number of subscribers, but there are
other good platforms to choose from today as well, such as Groups.io, WhatsApp,
and Gmail.
I am sending this message also, separately, to the OBA Board, in the hope that
they might pick up on this and take the lead.
There is no rush. I am happy to stay on until this has been sorted out.
