I am assisting with bird surveys on private land near Florence. Today's
highlights were a couple of dozen singing Savannah Sparrows, my first Cliff
Swallow of the season, Ospreys using a nearby nest, a couple of Wood Ducks and
a few migrant yellowlegs, including one Lesser.

The Swamp Sparrow that has been wintering was not found. It has been
associating with some Lincoln's, none of which were found since the last survey
a couple of weeks back.

At least 80 Violet-greens were staging at 8:00; they seemed to be moving around
a lot by 10:00 and I think most of them were migrants.

A few Yellowthroats and Barn Swallows were in.
