I realized yesterday after the meeting that I did not make it very clear.
So....

Secret Santa Gifts

We would like all members that are signed up to attend the Year End Christmas
Party to bring a up to  $20.00 non gender gift for we are having a secret Santa.

If you are bringing anyone (spouse or guests) please provide a gift to cover
them also.  That way nobody will get left out.

If we can try and stay away from a million bottles of wine and use our
imaginations a bit that would be great.  It is just my opinion but that’s all
that ever seems to be given out.  Up to you though most definately!!!!

I will have a list at next weeks meeting and if we can get these in asap that
would be appreciated.

Love the lawyer joke, Norm.  Especially because it wasn’t of the typical
variety, i.e. “What’s the difference between a trampoline and a lawyer? You
take your shoes off to jump on a trampoline” ☺.

QUESTION – from my wife of course….the secret Santa – is that one per person or
one per couple?

1. Give blood if you can. It may save someone you know. Important if you can
give blood, please do so,  please register as OBE.
2. Referrals this morning... 17 1st and 12 3rd for a total of 29
3. November 24th Christmas Party, sign up now. 6pm drinks and dinner at 7.
Shannon Lake Golf Course. $20.00 for spouses and $40.00 for any additional
guests.
4. We will have a secret Santa so please try and bring a gift out next week
under 20.00 gender neutral.
5. November 8th Business After Hours at Shannon Lake golf course. This will be
a joint sponsorship with the OBE and Shannon Lake. Should be good potential for
new members, try and make it out and support our group.

7. A couple of scams going on with the CRA and also BC Hydro and the TD is not
a scam they are giving away money to older clients. I guess I do not qualify as
I did not get a letter but I have only been with them for 30 years or so.
8. Great costumes this morning everyone. Best Costume Norm (Zorro) , Scariest
Gil (not sure but it was scary) and Funniest Denise (Clown) . Gil also scared
the crap out of everyone entering this morning with his saw. You had to look
close to not realize it was not a mannequin.
9.  Lawyer jokes, which predate Shakespeare's era, are commonly told by those
outside the profession as an expression of contempt, scorn and derision. They
serve as a form of social commentary or satire reflecting the cultural
perception of lawyers.
One day in Contract Law class, the professor asked one of his better students,
"Now if you were to give someone an orange, how would you go about it?"
The student replied, "Here's an orange."
The professor was livid. "No! No! Think like a lawyer!"
The student then recited, "Okay, I'd tell him, 'I hereby give and convey to you
all and singular, my estate and interests, rights, claim, title, claim and
advantages of and in, said orange, together with all its rind, juice, pulp, and
seeds, and all rights and advantages with full power to bite, cut, freeze and
otherwise eat, the same, or give the same away with and without the pulp,
juice, rind and seeds, anything herein before or hereinafter or in any deed, or
deeds, instruments of whatever nature or kind whatsoever to the contrary in
anywise notwithstanding..."

10. Paul really did look like a country singer and Kim I think was riding a
monkey!  Leah reminding me fondly of a girl I dated back in Winnipeg in the
60's ......
11. If you want it to happen, write it down and it will come true. Ask Lana,
she says it works for her. I am going to try and will keep you posted. The
power of positive thinking....
