Friends,
As many of you know, the Kelowna commemoration of the National Day of
Remembrance for Road Traffic Victims is a road safety initiative of mine, as
part of my One Crash is Too Many road safety campaign. The fifth annual event
is Wednesday, November 16, 2016 in the Orchard Park Mall parking lot, corner of
Dilworth and Highway 97.
I have asked those participating in the event to show up at 6:00 p.m., with a
brief ceremony to start promptly at 6:30 p.m.
YOUR PATIENCE in past years with the COLD!!! and some VERY LONG, DRAWN OUT
SPEAKERS has been incredible. We are taking steps, this year, to rectify both
issues. ONE - we will be setting up a shelter, with heat! at the location. TWO
- we will be holding speakers strictly to a 2 minute maximum.
To the many of you who have joined to help make this event a success in
previous years, THANK YOU!

Art Contest!!!
We would like to encourage a greater participation from young individuals this
year, so we have organized an art contest to help achieve that.
There will be $750.00 in PRIZES and the winners will be announced at the event.
The contest is a FUN way to use your artistic abilities while showing the
ridiculousness of inattention while performing other activities that require
constant attention. The contest package is attached, which contains the rules,
sample submissions, etc.
Please spread the word about the contest, and we would very much appreciate it
if you are able to distribute or display the information as much as possible.
The art contest is on the One Crash is Too Many website
(http://www.onecrashistoomany.com/event/one-crash-is-too-many-art-contest/).
Please share and "like" our art contest event
(https://www.facebook.com/events/790478547760593/) and National Day of
Remembrance event (https://www.facebook.com/events/1783803961875436/) to help
us get the message out about road safety!
I would appreciate it, if you might pass this on to others in your sphere of
influence. The hope is that the more awareness that is raised, the fewer
crashes there will be.
Thank you for your support,
