Hi Cheryl,
I would like to nominate Melissa Brown , Blenz Coffee. She does an amazing
amount of work to support artists in the community. She supports them by
offering them space at Blenz Coffee to show and sell their work. She's on the
executive of SWAC and was very involved in the Westside Culture Days.

As you know there will be a new award given out this year which addresses the
groups commitment to being dedicated to the wellbeing of our community. There
are many charitable things that go on in the background that the group does not
hear about and this is the time to let it be known.
Members are asked to nominate one of the following:
A fellow member
A fellow members business
Yourself
Your business
Feel free to nominate as many members as you feel appropriate.
The nomination should be in the form of an email to chair@xxxxxxx
<mailto:chair@xxxxxxx> and should include the name of the person or business
being nominated and the reason why.
All nominations must be received by the end of day, this Friday (November
13th). I have included below, the Charter exert that covers this new award.
ALSO remember there is no meeting this week and the following week come
prepared to vote for the recipient of the “Founders Award” which is the person
you feel has made the greatest contribution to the group this year.

Community Impact Award – In keeping with the mission to be dedicated to the
prosperity and wellbeing of our community – members nominate themselves, their
business, an individual or members business outlining why they feel they
exemplify this part of the group’s mission. All nominations will be submitted
to the OBE Chair by the deadline set out by the Executive. The winner will be
decided by the Chair and Vice-Chair. In the case that either the Chair or
Vice-Chair are included in the nominations, they would be in a conflict of
interest and will ask either the past chair or another of the current Executive
to take their place in the judging.
