Friends,
Congratulations. We’ve done some good! Our group collectively donated 29
units of blood during 2017

Our goal was 35 units, and I feel confident that with more diligent work on my
part we would have far exceeded that goal. The work would best have included:
1. Clear education about how easy it is to register as an OBE donor;
2. Clear education about how easy it is to do the actual donation, with
regular reminders about where and when the clinics are open, that there is no
need to book ahead, etc.;
3. Regular updates about our progress;
4. Coming up with ways to motivate each of us to take the time to donate
ourselves, as well as to recruit others to register under the OBE banner and
donate (family / friends / co-workers).
I am willing to “resolve to do better” in 2018, but I’ve been reading article
after article saying that New Years resolutions shouldn’t be made!...so if
there is anyone with the time and inclination to take this on I invite you to
let me know and I’ll share all I know!

I am attaching, for reference, my “call to action” e-mail of November 30, 2017.
I noted our commitment of 35 blood donations for 2017, and that with our 28
registered donations we needed only seven more.
An updated report, dated yesterday, shows that we’ve creeped up to 29

Only six….only six more of our sizeable membership need to take an hourish out
of your schedule over the coming couple weeks to meet our commitment.
