I would seriously recommend every one on this list to watch this. The first
third might be a bit obvious for most of you, but weird stuff just keeps
piling on towards the end. Rockmusic fans might like the ending!
I watch this about every 3 or 6 months (for a while now) and I feel
just as *blown
away* *every* time. (The presentation can be found in several YouTube
videos at other events, but hey, we all have repeated a successful
presentation) Before the time given in Kurt's link (@9:03) is The Conway
Game of Life interpreter that runs a Conway Game of Life that runs as a
Conway of Game of Life that runs... <stack overflow>
My mind is unable to comprehend how to "invent" one of these multi-language
quines (@32:37). I might with enough time manage to create a one language
one, but I doubt it.
My favorite language of those presented is Piet. (@39:40) A good simulator
is at https://gabriellesc.github.io/piet/ and the spec is at
https://www.dangermouse.net/esoteric/piet.html I find the spec a little
"vague" on how the next exit/entry point is determined when I was doodling
on creating a CPU/Display that is hardwired for Piet. (I have constructed a
CPU <https://hackaday.io/project/170938-the-74s-called-subleq> that runs
SUBLEQ <https://esolangs.org/wiki/Subleq>)
