Wasn’t there something between PMTS and MTS?
@Stefan you can think of it as the “L ” levels from other companies (e.g.
Google and Fb) almost, suggesting that because it’s easier to google it and
find compensation ranges etc etc.
At Oracle L -> ~IC (I think there are less IC6 at Oracle than L6 at Google
though)
Architect -> IC6 -> ~L6
CMTS -> IC5 -> ~L5
etc etc

Interesting. CMTS and PMTS is paid differently but everything in the job
description is 1:1 identical - only one tiny part is different.
CMTS
----
Detailed Description and Job Requirements
Provide leadership and expertise in the development of new
products/services/processes, frequently operating at the leading edge of
technology. Recommends and justifies major changes to existing
products/services/processes. BS or MS degree or equivalent experience
relevant to functional area. 8 or more years of software engineering or
related experience.
PMTS
----
Detailed Description and Job Requirements
Work is non-routine and very complex, involving the application of advanced
technical/business skills in area of specialization. Leading contributor
individually and as a team member, providing direction and mentoring to
others. BS or MS degree or equivalent experience relevant to functional
area. 7 years of software engineering or related experience.
I am not very familiar with the job titles but I think PMTS is higher than
CMTS and so got paid more bucks, right? Why does a PMTS with the exact same
skill matrix (What do you work on/Who you are) does get paid more when it
even requires less experience (7 year for PMTS vs +8 years for CMTS)? Sounds
strange to me ;-)

@Stefan: They're not identical, one is the principal, the others just

Anyhow, despite Denmark being mentioned, I won't come out of retirement
for this.

Why do you have different job titles for the exact same job

position despite the fact that there is no travel like for the US
based remote/office based positions? Seems like German guys can also
not apply ;-)
