Dear PGY-1 and PGY-2 Pharmacy Residency Program Directors,

The New York State Council of Health System Pharmacists (NYSCHP) would like to
invite you to the Jan Keltz Winter Pharmacotherapy Program, which will be held
from January 16th-18th, 2016, at Crowne Plaza, Lake Placid, NY. The program is
an excellent educational opportunity that offers up to 7.5 hours of continuing
education credits, covering topics from various clinical pharmacy specialties.

This year, we would like to extend this learning opportunity to the PGY-1 and
PGY-2 Pharmacy Residents, by offering them to present a 15-minute clinical
pearl on a pharmacotherapy topic of their choice. The clinical pearl can
represent an interesting patient case or a topic discussion and its
significance to the current pharmacy practice. The residents can choose from a
variety of specialties including, but not limited to- Infectious Diseases,
Cardiology, Critical Care, Oncology, Ambulatory Care, Psychiatry, Geriatrics,
Pharmacy Leadership, Medication Safety and Research/New Drug Development. The
residents will prepare the presentation, which will be reviewed by their
clinical preceptors and program director prior to submission.

The NYSCHP society would like to extend their gratitude to the Research and
Education Foundation (REF), that will be sponsoring one night room stay
(double-occupancy) and travel for 8 residents selected. Program registration
fee will also be waived. We will be selecting a maximum of 2 residents from
each pharmacy residency program. This is the first year that we are offering 2
hours of Resident Clinical Pearl CE presentations. We are excited to extend
this opportunity to the pharmacy residents and look forward to attracting new
membership and enhancing attendance at the Jan Keltz Winter Pharmacotherapy
Program.

Please let us know by November 6th, 2015, if your residents would be interested
in presenting in the Clinical Pearl Program. Please e-mail Heide Christensen
(Heide.Christensen@xxxxxxxxx<mailto:Heide.Christensen@xxxxxxxxx>) or Kanika
Ballani (Kanika.Ballani@xxxxxxxxx)<mailto:Kanika.Ballani@xxxxxxxxx)> with the
resident(s) names, and their potential clinical topic of interest for the
presentation.

Thank you.

Sincerely,

Continuing Competency Committee

New York State Council of Health System Pharmacists

Heide Christensen
