Subject: [nyschp.dop] Narcotic Waste Disposal Systems

Dear Directors of Pharmacy,

What are NYS hospitals doing to comply with the DEA Final Rule on the
Disposal of Controlled Substances stating that the flushing of waste
narcotics down the drain does not meet the non-retrievable standard?
What drug disposal devices do you utilize for wasting of controlled
substances? Thank you in advance for your input.

Sincerely,
Leila
