Data Dictionary

The next meeting of the New York City Visual FoxPro User Group will be on
Thursday, May 7, 2009. Chaim Caron will speak on meta data and Data
Dictionary. He will explain why systems need a data dictionary, what a data
dictionary is, the functions a data dictionary should support, and the
benefits of using a data dictionary when you develop database systems. He
will demonstrate a few features of the data dictionary he developed about 15
years ago and has used since. He will also discuss the database structure he
uses for the data dictionary. This information will be useful to you if you
want to build your own data dictionary.

Chaim Caron is an independent consultant specializing in Visual FoxPro and
has worked with the FoxPro and Visual FoxPro since 1989. He was the leader
of the New York City FoxPro User Group for three years during the 90's.

The meeting will be held in NYU's Main (Silver) Building, 32 Waverly Place,
northeast corner of Washington Square, on Thursday May 7. We won't know the
room number until the day of the meeting. When you arrive at the guard, tell
him you are attending the FoxPro Computer User Group meeting and he will
tell you which room we are in. Please bring photo id.
