Hi,
For the eloquence sluggish in code factory add on, this is because the addon
want to check and validate the licence on the internet first before allowing
you to use the voice. This is happening on android, let’s say you don’t have
the internet for a month and you switch your synthesizer to eloquence on
android, it will say please register eloquence tts. But after it has verified
(after you get online) it will then back to normal.
I think it is the same issue with nvda eloquence code factory.
Sorry if I am wrong

FactoryAdd-on
Hi,
Two other things to say about this after more observation. If I allow Eloquence
to be the default synthesizer, NVDA takes much longer to start once the Windows
desktop comes up than it does with Espeak NG. The second thing is that for some
reason, with Outlook 2016, Braille is slower both with and without Eloquence.
By that I mean that without indicates that I’m using Espeak NG.
I’ll try to keep observing.
Thanks.
Jim

I think you'd need to report this to Code Factory. If you're correct about the
diagnosis, this is rather concerning. It suggests that the Code Factory code is
either blocking (i.e. not returning immediately) when speech is sent or that it
is somehow slowing down the Windows message loop (the Freedom Scientific dll
uses window messages to communicate). It'd be interesting to know whether you
experience similar problems with another display that doesn't use window
messages, but I'm guessing that isn't feasible.

Hi,
Debugging why this is the case is way beyond my ability, and I don't even know
how to log an issue for this, but when I use a combination of the Code Factory
add-on in combination with the FreedomScientific Focus Classic display, braille
is much slower than if I use Espeak NG. Is there any other information that can
be gathered that would help pin down the cause that a Python newbie can
provide? I'd be glad to try.
Thanks.
