Hi all,
Seeing that there were no issues with the beta and since most of the problems were identified and fixed during development, the next version of Control Usage Assistant (control help) add-on for NVDA has been released ahead of schedule. New in version 2.0 include new and updated translations (and thanks goes to fellow translators for their hard work), control help for new controls such as terminal windows and Windows 8 Start Screen, focus and browse mode help on webpages and a new framework for fresenting application-based help messages (with room for expansion). The new version can be downloaded from NVDA Add-ons page under Control Usage Assistant heading.
Changes between beta and official release:
* Added English readme under help menu. Right now, the menu item is the description of the add-on, but will modify the actual add-on description to shorten the overall description and the menu item for the documentation. Once a suitable framework for translating the readme is here, the readme will be available for other languages (in a maintenance release). For code reviewers: all topic branches for 2.0 such as app-based messages has been merged into master and vice versa. I'll investigate text infos code to add control help messages for object under caret (now that ticket 2295 has been integrated into NVDA core, this opens up a lot of possibilities for Microsoft Word users when dealing with forms in Word documents, hence the greater need for text infos code and associated caret-based control help).
Thanks.
Cheers,
Joseph
