Hi Huw I can confirm we'll be circulating proposals for comment before we take any action. When people don't vote at an election, they are usually disillusioned or distrustful of the process – rather than happy ) I feel that a survey on its own is a poor method of consultation Proposals should be circulated for comment before any action is taken. Best wishes, Huw. . -----Original Message----- From: Derek Hornby Sent: Friday, August 08, 2014 7:46 PM To: ntnm@xxxxxxxxxxxxx Subject: [ntnm] Re: Update on survey results Huw Even on this list, I don't think everyone filled in the survey form. To those that failed to fill in the form, does this mean happy with the service. -----Original Message----- From: ntnm-bounce@xxxxxxxxxxxxx [mailto:ntnm-bounce@xxxxxxxxxxxxx] On Behalf Of Huw Evans Sent: Friday, August 08, 2014 7:21 PM To: ntnm@xxxxxxxxxxxxx Subject: [ntnm] Re: Update on survey results Alison, I doubt whether RNIB should take action simply on the basis of the survey which only provides a snapshot of some of our views in June. The situation is not static; 'speakon' has arrived and some views will have changed with the benefit of helpful tips and discussion. I hope that RNIB will obtain the advice of users on any proposed changes before making them. Instead of only relying on surveys, I believe RNIB should set up a users advisory panel - and they should persuade Isaac to chair it We might then hope to avoid repeating the last few months. I've just renewed my subscription. Best wishes, Huw. . -----Original Message----- From: Derek Hornby Sent: Friday, August 08, 2014 5:00 PM To: ntnm@xxxxxxxxxxxxx Subject: [ntnm] Re: Update on survey results Hi Alan I think many people just complain, but don't bother to fill in the survey form. So how can they expect RNIB to take all issues into account if they won't fill in the survey form. Seems low to me. We are still analysing the results, working with our developers. Not surprisingly there are a wide variety of users, and ways of accessing the content, with very few common trends. It is taking a bit longer than we anticipated, but we want to give you as full a response as possible to gain your feedback on future developments.
