Yeah! the old vertigo I would have thought I would have grown out of that after all those years as a rigger ; ) Good grief!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I could say you're getting too old for that sort of thing but it just might be rubbing salt into the wound... _____ From: nswnra-bounce@xxxxxxxxxxxxx [mailto:nswnra-bounce@xxxxxxxxxxxxx] On Behalf Of Corona Australis Sent: Wednesday, 5 January 2011 3:52 PM To: nswnra@xxxxxxxxxxxxx Subject: [nswnra] Re: An aerial view of Mallanganee As long as you're willing to hold the camera can't fly and film at the same time. Took it for a first attempt at slope soaring last night what a hoot! although I did end up crashing over a crest out of view resulting in ripping off the nose and ending the session, probably too windy for a first attempt. I went and tried another ridge this morning before the wind picked up. Must have hit my highest altitude, I was getting vertigo just looking at it. I managed to gain height without power via updrafts. Cant wait until I'm confident enough to get the Pro out of it box. It is a full house powered sailplane a cheap one. Probably just as well it isn't clear outside. I went for a ride on my motorbike today and go tickled up on a head of a tree. I tried to get through it and the dang thing sat up on me, flipping me over and the bike on top of my right leg. I think I might have cracked a rib and the leg well it's ok now it got a few bumps and bruises. My many months. perhaps years of studying cloud charts I have come to the conclusion north eastern NSW is a bloody cloud magnet. While Western and southern Australia seem relatively cloud free. And you can bet you last dollar that would change if ya moved there. Not looking even slightly promising out here for tonight. I'm going to go try some slope flying with my glider up on Cambridge Plateau if thing change I'll come back and let you know. If not we could look at tomorrow night, should be too much moon around.
