you have another one you'd rather I use, or just don't like the one I

OK, this is coming from our newly minted mailing list that I told you
about at the pot-luck. This email is going out to everybody who attended --
more about the mailing list in a minute.
First of all, I have attached the flyer that we can use to recruit new
singers. I changed the date of the first rehearsal to a week from next
Tuesday, and I removed the notice about the pot-luck.
I have also attached the bylaws for the group. Remember, legally we are
still "Phoenix Chorale Portland" -- that's the name of the organization
that has the non-profit status. We need that in order to raise money and
offer a tax break to donors. But we will be singing under "Northern Lights
Singers" and legally I will be filing a "dba" (doing-business-as) with the
Secretary of State so we can use that name without causing confusion.
(I sent the documents as old-style Microsoft Word ".doc" files. If you
need a ".docx" or ".pdf" version please let me know.)
Thank you so much to everybody, and especially to Leela Koilpillai. I have
much more to say, and I'm sure this is going to be a wonderful chorale that
can build all sort of bridges among various people.

Oh yeah -- about the mailing list. FIRST RULE: if you want to write
everybody, just email to northernlightssingers@xxxxxxxxxxxxx. (Or simply
"reply" to this email.)
SECOND RULE: you need to be sure you are using the address you put down on
the sign-up sheet when you write. For example, if you gave us your personal
email address, but you send an email from work, it won't be accepted.
Freelists is FREE, but it IS a tad confusing. ANYBODY can sign up and join
our list. You just have to go to www.freelists.org and search for the
list and join. (So you could be a member both with your personal AND work
email addresses.) But it can be confusing. Please write me if you need
help. You can reach me by writing to the list (and everybody will get it)
