Here's an update on the B2B (Beach to Beacon) event. First of all, the
first rehearsal is at 5:30 pm this Sunday at the Christian Science church.
Second, I'm afraid that the board has not done its best to communicate.
Although Leela, in a transcontinental phone call, agreed to direct us at
the event, we really felt we were twisting her arm. We felt bad about that.
You see, even before we were able to call Leela, we had already looked for
someone to sub for her, and when that person did get back with us and said
she'd love to do it, we said OK.
Because of the time pressure we sincerely believed Leela would be glad to
hear she didn't need to do this on such short notice (or get up so early on
a Saturday so soon after returning from India), but that was a mistake.
We've explained this to Leela and apologized. The person who will lead us
for this one event is Camille Saucier. She's enthusiastic and she will be
very good with the simple pieces we're going to sing (more on that later).
One last thing -- in addition to the two free meals and a chance to meet
Joan Benoit Samuelson, singers will get a free B2B t-shirt. We really do
hope to see everyone on Sunday.
